Short Description of the Journey

My Hungarian friends and I will arrive in Toronto on July 17, 2007, give or take a day or two. We will spend about ten or eleven days there, to do some sightseeing in Toronto and in surrounding areas (Pickering, Uxbridge, Westfield, Niagara Falls), and -- of course -- to attend AvCon 2007.

  • Section #1 The King Barn
    • time spent: about 13 days + 1 day travelling (July 17-31)
    • place: Toronto, Ontario; and surrounding areas
    • accommodation: York University Campus apartments
    • activities: visiting filming sites: Pickering Village Museum, Uxbridge, Westfield, Pine Grove Church, maybe King Farm, visiting Sullivan Entertainment, attending Avonlea Convention 2007, Bala Museum, Niagara Falls, CN Tower.
    • costs:
      • accommodation: about $470 CAD (counting 2 persons per apartment, so $36 CAD a night per person)
      • food: $40 CAD a day, so $520 CAD
  • Section #2
    • time spent: 9+1 days (July 31-August 9)
    • place: PEI
    • accommodation: cottage/apartment in some town
    • activities: Arriving, travelling around the Island by rental car, sightseeing -- visiting LMM, Road to Avonlea and Anne of Green Gables related sites especially, as well as going to the Anne festival in Charlottetown, etc.
    • costs:
      • travelling: Toronto-Halifax route by plane about $450 CAD (round-trip with taxes on low cost flight), $110 CAD a car per week per person with taxes and insurance
      • accommodation: about $450 CAD per person
      • food: $40 CAD a day, so $320-400 CAD
  • Section #3 (details are still being worked out) Halifax
    • time spent: 4 days (August 9-13)
    • place: Nova Scotia
    • accommodation: Bed & Breakfast in some town
    • activities: more details later
    • costs:
      • travelling: rental car if needed
      • accommodation: $240 CAD (a room for two is about $110-120 CAD per night with breakfast) + taxes
      • food: $40 CAD a day, so $160 CAD
  • Section #4: Getting back to Toronto or home. (August 13)
